Join us for a fascinating 10 day Tour of Malaysia. From Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu, then to the island of Pulau Bidong.
Pay It Forward Tours has taken the time to create a profound tour opportunity for teachers to learn about the family history of some of their Australian-Vietnamese students. For many Vietnamese refugees, Pulau Bidong was an island of hope and a safe haven after fleeing for their lives. You will have the opportunity to explore the island and embrace the sense of light that it offered.

- This tour will commence in Kuala Lumpur. Please ensure you arrive at least one day prior to the commencement of the tour.
- If you are an Australian teacher or educator, travel and tour costs may be fully tax deductible. Please see your financial advisor for further information and advice. After full payment is made, you will receive a full invoice as proof of purchase for tax purposes.
- All travellers must show documentation relating to Covid-19 travel requirements.
- If you are wishing to share accommodation with another adult, you are required to book as an 'adult'.
- If you do not wish to share accommodation, please book under 'single traveller'. This will require you to pay a single traveller supplement.
- As this tour visits organisations that work with children, we require all travellers to complete a Working with Children Check prior to commencement of travel.

Malaysia 10 day Itinerary
Awake to the sounds and smells of bustling Kuala Lumpur. After breakfast, put on your walking shoes, as we head to the popular 'Batu Caves', an important shrine to Hindu's. Guarded by the Hindu deity; Lord Murugan, these caves are a cathedral in the sky.
Later, enjoy lunch at a local hotspot and take the time to do some shopping at the biggest mega malls in KL.
In the evening, visit the majestic Putra Mosque, before heading to a relaxing first group dinner.
Wake early this morning as we make our way to a local School. Today you will immerse yourself in the life of a student in Malaysia.
In the afternoon, head back to the hotel for a much deserved rest.
In the evening, we will head to another local hotspot for dinner. Afterwards, soak in the beauty of the Petronas Twin Towers, as they light up the night sky.
Return to the Malaysian classroom today and take your time collaborating with the local teacher to develop a lesson for tomorrow. In the afternoon, sit by the pool and relax.
Tonight, we will head to KL's most popular food haven, 'Jalan Alor', aka, "Food Street".
Enjoy your final day of your school visit. Today you will have the opportunity to teach alongside a local teacher in this beautiful country.
In the afternoon, pick up a bargain or two at Central Market, before making our way to bustling Chinatown for dinner and some more great shopping.
Straight after breakfast, our driver will take us to the airport for our short flight to Kuala Terengganu. This afternoon we will explore the stunning Crystal Mosque, before having a delicious seafood dinner by the beach.
Today is the day. This morning we will explore Pulau Bidong, an island that became home to over 40,000 Vietnamese refugees who were forced to flee their homes during the Vietnam War. Be fascinated by the hope this island gave to those who once called it home. You will be taken on a guided tour and have the opportunity to observe what remains from its past inhabitants.
Take this opportunity to reflect on the rich history and importance Bidong has had on your own students.
In the evening, take a stroll though Pantai Batu Buruk Night Market. Taste some of Malaysia's best Satay, Nasi Lemak or Fried Mee Hoon.
After breakfast, we will explore a local fishing village. Explore the countryside and observe daily life for its locals. Afterwards, we will make our way to a Kumpung China (Chinatown). Explore the many narrow lanes and vibrant street art. Enjoy a Malaysian coffee or two at a local cafe. Tonight is free for you to explore, or relax at the hotel.
Awake early for our early flight back to Kuala Lumpur.
This afternoon we will visit some of Malaysia's popular landmarks; The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, The Old KL Railway station and Perdana Botanical Gardens (Optional).
Tonight, pick up a bargain and enjoy a feast in Little India.
After breakfast, we will make our way to a local organisation that strives to support vulnerable children.
In the afternoon, take the opportunity to do some last minute shopping in one of the many mega malls of Kuala Lumpur that are open till 10pm.
Tonight, head to a popular hotspot for a Farewell dinner. Share memories of your trip with your fellow travellers. Relax, reflect and unwind, as you have a laugh with a group who were once strangers, but have now become friends.
This morning, venture out and enjoy some Roti Canai and a Hot Coffee, before farewelling the group and making your way to the airport for your onward flights.
