WHY?

Our course aims to develop understanding and compassion. Participants will develop strategies to support the needs and capitalise on the stengths of the diverse learners within their schools, as well as various strategies that enable them to be aware of children's backgrounds to enhance learning. With the rapid growth in globalisation, comes the need to equip all teachers with an expanded set of skills and attitudes to engage linguistically, culturally and religiously diverse students to support effective learning.

Develop a greater sense of connection with your students. Develop your self-awareness and personal understanding. Enhance your pedagogical practices with the many practical, hands-on strategies provided in this course.
 
 
Teachers will: 
  • Increase awareness of diversity in Australian classrooms based on current data and current literature.
  • Develop personal understanding of diverse learners from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Develop a repetopire of teaching strategies to be responsive to diverse learners.
  • Establish inclusive and positive interactions to engage and support all students in classroom activities.
  • Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice targetting to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
